Product Overview

Bronze wire is a drawn copper alloy product manufactured in multiple grades, diameters, and tempers for demanding industrial and engineering applications. Compared with standard brass materials, bronze wire provides higher strength, superior fatigue resistance, and improved wear performance.

Produced through precision wire drawing and annealing processes, bronze wire offers excellent dimensional stability, spring performance, and mechanical reliability for precision manufacturing environments. Different bronze grades provide balanced conductivity and strength suitable for both electrical and industrial applications.

Bronze wire is extensively used in springs, electrical contacts, mesh weaving, bearings, and precision formed components where durability and fatigue resistance are essential. It is widely applied across electronics, aerospace, automotive, marine, and heavy industrial manufacturing industries.

FAQ — Bronze Wire

Common engineering questions on bronze wire: alloys, standards, tempers and supply.

Phosphor bronze (C51000/C52100), silicon bronze (C65500), aluminum bronze (C61300/C61800) and beryllium copper (C17200) are the common UNS grades drawn into wire. Each is chosen for a different balance of strength, fatigue life and corrosion resistance.
Phosphor bronze wire is covered by ASTM B159; beryllium copper wire by ASTM B197; silicon bronze wire references ASTM B99. Confirm the exact specification against the drawn temper and section you require.
As-drawn tempers (H00–H08) raise tensile strength and lower elongation; annealed (O61) wire is softer and more ductile. Spring applications usually call for H08 or harder tempers, while weaving and forming need softer tempers.
Springs, woven mesh, electrical contacts, fasteners, marine rigging and musical-instrument strings. Phosphor bronze dominates spring and mesh use; beryllium copper is selected where high strength plus conductivity is required.
Linsy Copper supplies bronze wire against ASTM specs with mill test reports (MTR/MTC) per order, SGS reports on request, RoHS/REACH compliance, low-MOQ custom production and a 10–60 day lead time, with quote response within 1 hour.
