C95400 aluminum bronze, also known as 9C aluminum bronze, is the most widely used high-strength cast copper-aluminum alloy. It pairs excellent wear and fatigue resistance with reliable corrosion protection in seawater and industrial environments, making it ideal for heavy-duty bearings, gears, valve bodies, and marine hardware.

Product Overview

C95400 is a cast aluminum bronze whose strength comes from 10.0–11.5% aluminum and 3.0–5.0% iron in a copper-rich matrix. Iron refines the grain structure and lifts both hardness and impact-wear resistance, which is why C95400 is often selected as a steel replacement where corrosion would rule out carbon steel. It is produced to ASTM B148 (sand cast), ASTM B271 (centrifugal), ASTM B505 (continuous), and ASTM B806 (permanent mold).

In the as-cast condition C95400 reaches 517–621 MPa tensile strength, 207–310 MPa yield, 12–18% elongation, and a Brinell hardness of 150–170. It holds strength at elevated temperature, resists cavitation and fatigue under shock or overload, and keeps its properties in seawater, fresh water, and many weak acids. The machinability rating is 60 (free-cutting brass = 100); gas-shielded arc and coated-metal-arc welding are good, while oxyacetylene welding is not recommended.

Linsy Copper supplies C95400 aluminum bronze as sand-cast and centrifugal-cast components with low-MOQ custom geometry (typical lead time 10–60 days), in-house CNC machining and surface finishing, an MTR/MTC for every order, and optional SGS testing on request. C95400 reaches 517–621 MPa tensile strength at about 7.45 g/cm³, close to medium-carbon steel but far more corrosion resistant. In seawater, slurry, or chemical service where carbon steel would rust, C95400 carries the same load without degrading.
Yes. It resists dezincification, stress-corrosion cracking, and cavitation erosion, and performs well in seawater and fresh water. It is widely used for ship fittings, valve bodies, and pickling hardware.
Gas-shielded arc and coated-metal-arc welding are rated good, but oxyacetylene welding is not recommended. Preheat and post-weld stress relief are typically applied to avoid cracking in thick sections.
ASTM B148 covers sand castings, B271 centrifugal, B505 continuous, B806 permanent mold, and B763 valve sand castings. The mechanical values quoted here follow ASTM B148 as-cast condition.
Linsy Copper supplies C95400 as cast and machined components at low MOQ with a typical lead time of 10–60 days, ships an MTR/MTC with every order, and offers optional SGS testing on request.
