C95800 nickel aluminum bronze, also known as marine-grade NAB, is a high-strength cast copper-aluminum-nickel alloy. Its nickel-stabilized structure resists dealuminization and cavitation, making it ideal for ship propellers, sea valves, pump impellers, and heavy-duty bushings in seawater service.

Product Overview

C95800 is a cast nickel aluminum bronze whose corrosion resistance comes from 4.0–5.0% nickel and 3.5–4.5% iron added to an 8.5–9.5% aluminum copper matrix. The nickel stabilizes the microstructure and prevents dealuminification, while the aluminum forms a self-healing Al₂O₃ film that blocks pitting and crevice corrosion in aerated seawater. It is produced to ASTM B148 (sand cast), ASTM B505 (continuous), and ASTM B271 (centrifugal).

In the as-cast condition C95800 reaches 585 MPa minimum tensile strength, 240 MPa yield, 15% elongation, and a Brinell hardness of 150–190. Its cavitation and erosion resistance outperform 316 stainless steel in high-velocity flow, and its high copper content naturally inhibits barnacle and algae growth. The alloy is non-magnetic (permeability below 1.05), with electrical conductivity about 7% IACS and a machinability rating of 20 (free-cutting brass = 100); MIG/TIG welding with ERCuNiAl filler is rated good.

Linsy Copper supplies C95800 nickel aluminum bronze as sand-cast, centrifugal-cast, and continuous-cast components with low-MOQ custom geometry (typical lead time 10–60 days), in-house CNC machining and surface finishing, an MTR/MTC for every order, and optional SGS testing on request. Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our products, services, and ordering process

C95800 adds 4.0–5.0% nickel and raises iron to 3.5–4.5%, which stabilizes the microstructure and prevents dealuminification. The result is better seawater corrosion, cavitation, and erosion resistance than C95400, plus non-magnetic behavior, at a slightly higher strength floor (585 MPa vs 517 MPa tensile min).
Yes. Its self-healing Al₂O₃ film and nickel-stabilized structure give outstanding resistance to pitting, cavitation, and biofouling in aerated seawater, which is why it is a standard choice for ship propellers, impellers, and sea valves.
No. C95800 is effectively non-magnetic with permeability below 1.05, making it suitable for naval, sonar, and other applications where magnetic signature must be minimized.
ASTM B148 covers sand castings, B505 continuous castings, and B271 centrifugal castings. The mechanical values quoted here follow the ASTM B148 as-cast condition; EN 1982 CC333G and JIS H5121 CAC703 are common international equivalents.
Linsy Copper supplies C95800 as cast and machined components at low MOQ with a typical lead time of 10–60 days, ships an MTR/MTC with every order, and offers optional SGS testing on request.
