C93600 high-leaded tin bronze, commonly referred to as Modified SAE 64, is a cast copper-tin-lead alloy containing 11.0–13.0% lead, 6.0–8.0% tin, and copper as balance. It is governed by ASTM B505 for continuous-cast bar and is produced specifically for bearing and bushing service where lubrication may be intermittent.
Produced by continuous casting, C93600 offers a fine, uniform lead distribution that lets bearings run cooler, survive lubrication interruptions, and resist pounding better than lower-lead bronzes. It machines readily (machinability rating 80) and solders or brazes well, but is not recommended for oxyacetylene or arc welding. Typical tensile strength is 227 MPa minimum with Brinell hardness around 65 and electrical conductivity of 11% IACS.
Linsy Copper supplies C93600 high-leaded tin bronze as continuous-cast solid and hollow bar to ASTM B505, with low-MOQ custom production (typical lead time 10–60 days), in-house CNC machining for finished bushings, an MTR/MTC for every order, and optional SGS testing on request.
