C93200 bearing bronze, also known as SAE 660 high-leaded tin bronze, is a general-purpose cast bearing alloy supplied as continuous-cast bar and tube. It combines excellent anti-friction performance with superior machinability, making it the standard choice for bearings, bushings, wear plates, and a wide range of maintenance and industrial components.

Product Overview

C93200, also referred to as SAE 660 or RG7, is a high-leaded tin bronze within the cast bearing bronze family. The lead content of 6.0–8.0% provides natural self-lubrication and a fine machined finish, while tin strengthens the matrix and zinc improves casting fluidity. It is produced to ASTM B505 (continuous cast), ASTM B271 (centrifugal cast), and ASTM B584 (sand cast) for bars, tubes, and custom shapes.

With a tensile strength of 241 MPa (35 ksi), yield of 138 MPa (20 ksi), and a Brinell hardness of 65, C93200 delivers ample load capacity for moderate-speed, moderate-load bearing service. Its machinability rating of 70 (free-cutting brass = 100) keeps secondary operations fast and inexpensive, and it resists galling and seizing under boundary lubrication. Soldering is excellent and brazing is good, while fusion welding is not recommended.

Linsy Copper supplies C93200 bearing bronze as continuous-cast solid and cored bar, with low-MOQ custom lengths and diameters (typical lead time 10–60 days), in-house CNC machining to bearing tolerances, an MTR/MTC for every order, and optional SGS testing on request. Frequently Asked Questions

C93200 is the standard general-purpose bearing and bushing alloy (SAE 660). It is used for sleeve bearings, thrust washers, wear plates, pump bushings, light-duty gears, and a broad range of maintenance parts where self-lubrication and easy machining matter more than peak strength.
Fusion welding is not recommended for C93200. Soldering is excellent and brazing is good, so assembly is normally done by mechanical fitting, soldering, or brazing rather than arc welding, which can cause lead segregation and cracking.
The 6.0–8.0% lead is dispersed as fine particles in the matrix. Under load these particles smear to form a lubricating film, reduce friction, and prevent galling and seizing in boundary-lubrication conditions.
ASTM B505 covers continuous-cast bar and tube, ASTM B271 covers centrifugal castings, and ASTM B584 covers sand castings. The mechanical properties quoted here follow ASTM B505; B271 values differ slightly.
Linsy Copper supplies C93200 as continuous-cast solid and cored bar with a typical lead time of 10–60 days at low MOQ, provides an MTR/MTC with every order, and offers optional SGS testing on request.
