C86300 is a high-strength manganese bronze whose properties come from 22.0–28.0% zinc, 3.0–7.5% aluminum, and 2.5–5.0% manganese in a copper-rich matrix, with 2.0–4.0% iron for grain refinement. It is a non-heat-treatable casting alloy produced as continuous-cast bar (ASTM B505), centrifugal cast (ASTM B271), sand cast (ASTM B22 / B147), and sand-cast valve parts (ASTM B763). The aluminum and iron combination gives it hardness and wear resistance well above ordinary brasses.
In the as-cast condition C86300 reaches a minimum tensile strength of 758 MPa (110 ksi), yield of 427 MPa (62 ksi), elongation of 14%, and a Brinell hardness of 225. It is engineered for slow-speed, heavy-load bearings, screw-down nuts, and forming dies where strength and anti-galling behavior matter more than machinability (machinability rating only 8 versus free-cutting brass = 100). Coated-metal-arc welding is good, but soldering, brazing, and gas-shielded arc welding are poor.
Linsy Copper supplies C86300 manganese bronze as continuous-cast solid and hollow bar with low-MOQ custom diameters and lengths (typical lead time 10–60 days), in-house CNC machining to bearing tolerances, an MTR/MTC for every order, and optional SGS testing on request.
