C80100 cast copper is high-purity cast copper with ≥99.95% Cu+Ag and near-100% IACS conductivity. Used for busbars, electrode holders, and electrical connectors where cast conductivity parts are needed.

Product Overview

C80100 cast copper is a high-purity casting alloy in the C80000 copper family, produced to ASTM B30 (ingot), ASTM B505 (continuous-cast bar), and ASTM B584 (sand cast). The material holds a minimum 99.95% Cu+Ag content with total impurity limited to 0.05%, delivering conductivity close to 100% IACS in the as-cast condition — the highest of any cast copper alloy.

It is castable by sand, permanent mold, centrifugal, and continuous casting, and supplied in the annealed (M01) condition with a typical tensile strength near 172 MPa and elongation around 40%. Soldering and brazing are excellent, while gas-shielded arc welding is only fair and oxyacetylene welding is not recommended. Its low impurity level avoids the hydrogen-embrittlement risk seen in some deoxidized grades.

When you need cast pure-copper parts, Linsy Copper supplies copper bar and block that can be produced to applicable ASTM standards by grade and product form, with low-MOQ custom casting and machining support for non-stock geometries. Every order ships with an MTR/MTC, and optional SGS composition or conductivity reports are available on request. Typical custom lead time runs 10–60 days, and our team returns a quotation within about one hour of inquiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about C80100 cast copper specifications, standards, machining, and supply.

C80100 is covered by ASTM B30 for ingot, ASTM B505 for continuous-cast bar, and ASTM B584 for sand castings. The grade is defined in the C80000 cast-copper series and is written specifically for the cast condition rather than adapted from a wrought specification.
No. C11000 is wrought electrolytic tough-pitch copper, while C80100 is the dedicated cast grade. Specify C80100 when a part must be produced in the as-cast condition yet still deliver near-100% IACS conductivity — naming the cast specification removes ambiguity for the foundry.
Machinability is low (rating about 10, similar to pure copper), so it tends to be soft and gummy. Sharp tooling and rigid setups are recommended; for finished features, CNC machining of near-net cast blanks is the practical route.
For standard stock copper bar or block, shipment is commonly within a few business days. Non-stock custom casting or machined geometries typically require 10–60 days depending on grade, dimensions, and processing complexity.
Yes. It contains no intentional lead, arsenic, or other restricted substances, and every order is documented with an MTR/MTC. Additional SGS composition, conductivity, and RoHS + REACH SVHC reports can be supplied on request at extra testing cost.
