Product Overview

C75700 nickel silver, also known as German silver, is a copper-nickel-zinc alloy containing nickel to improve corrosion resistance, strength, and appearance. Despite its name, nickel silver does not contain actual silver and is classified as a copper alloy.

Compared with standard brass alloys, C75700 provides improved corrosion resistance, higher strength, and a brighter metallic appearance. Its excellent formability and surface finish make it suitable for precision stamping, decorative components, and specialty industrial applications.

C75700 nickel silver is commonly supplied in sheets, strips, wires, bars, and custom profiles for electronics, musical instruments, architectural hardware, and precision manufacturing.

FAQ — C75700 Nickel Silver

Common engineering questions on C75700 nickel silver: composition, standards, properties and supply.

C75700, also called 65-12 nickel silver (CuNi12Zn24), is a wrought copper-nickel-zinc alloy with Cu 63.5–66.5%, Ni 11–13% and zinc the balance. The ~12% nickel gives it corrosion resistance and a silver-white finish without containing silver.
C75700 is covered by ASTM B122 (plate/sheet/strip), B149 (nickel-silver products), B151 (rod/bar) and B206 (wire). Pick the specification that matches the product form you need.
In annealed condition C75700 reaches about 350–450 MPa tensile strength with good ductility (35%+ elongation). Cold-worked tempers such as H04 raise strength to roughly 550–640 MPa while lowering elongation. Electrical conductivity is about 7–8% IACS, so it is not used as a conductor.
Springs, connectors, relay contacts, cutlery, decorative hardware, deep-drawn parts, keys and optical goods. Its formability and tarnish resistance suit both functional and decorative parts.
Linsy Copper supplies C75700 nickel silver against ASTM specs with per-order MTR/MTC, SGS on request, RoHS/REACH compliance, low-MOQ custom production and a 10–60 day lead time, with quote response within 1 hour.
