C75200 Nickel Silver 65-18

C75200 copper, commonly referred to as nickel silver 65-18 or German silver, is a copper-nickel-zinc alloy containing 16.5–19.5% nickel with zinc as the balance and copper around 65%. It is manufactured to ASTM B122 (plate, sheet, strip, and rolled bar), ASTM B151 (rod and bar), and ASTM B206 (wire) for decorative, electrical, and precision-stamped components. Despite the name, it contains no silver.

Produced through cold rolling and drawing, C75200 nickel silver reaches tensile strength of 380–450 MPa in the annealed condition and up to 640 MPa in the hard temper, with a bright silver appearance and good tarnish resistance. Its strength-to-formability balance and fatigue properties suit it for springs, clips, and stamped connectors, while its decorative tone drives use in hardware, musical-instrument parts, and jewelry findings. Electrical conductivity is low at about 6% IACS.
