Product Overview

C71000 copper nickel, also known as 80/20 copper nickel, is a copper-nickel alloy containing approximately 20% nickel. Compared with pure copper and lower nickel CuNi alloys, C71000 provides improved corrosion resistance, mechanical stability, and resistance to seawater erosion.

The alloy maintains good thermal conductivity while offering excellent resistance to biofouling, stress corrosion cracking, and marine environments, making it suitable for demanding applications where long-term reliability is required.

C71000 is commonly supplied in tubes, sheets, plates, bars, and other semi-finished forms for marine engineering, heat exchangers, offshore systems, and industrial equipment.

FAQ — C71000 Copper Nickel

Common engineering questions on C71000 copper nickel: composition, standards, properties and supply.

C71000, also called 80-20 cupronickel (CuNi20Fe), contains about 20% nickel with controlled iron and manganese. It is a lower-nickel grade than C71500 (70-30), offering good seawater corrosion resistance at lower cost.
C71000 is covered by ASTM B111 (seamless condenser tube), B466 (seamless pipe), B122 (plate/sheet) and B171 (pressure-vessel plate). Tube is commonly supplied in annealed (O61) temper.
Annealed C71000 tube meets a minimum tensile strength of about 310 MPa with roughly 110 MPa yield and 30%+ elongation. Electrical conductivity is about 6.5–9% IACS. The iron addition improves resistance to flowing-seawater erosion.
Condenser and heat-exchanger tubes, ferrules, electrical springs, communication relays and marine fittings. It suits moderate seawater service where C71500's higher strength is not required.
Linsy Copper supplies C71000 copper nickel against ASTM specs with per-order MTR/MTC, SGS on request, RoHS/REACH compliance, low-MOQ custom production and a 10–60 day lead time, with quote response within 1 hour.
