C63200 nickel aluminum bronze is a high-strength wrought copper-aluminum-nickel alloy with low magnetic permeability. It resists seawater corrosion, cavitation, and wear, ideal for marine fasteners, valve stems, and pump bodies.

Product Overview

C63200 is a wrought (forged and rolled) nickel aluminum bronze whose strength comes from 8.7–9.5% aluminum, 4.0–4.8% nickel, and 3.5–4.3% iron in a copper matrix, with manganese at 1.2–2.0%. The nickel stabilizes the microstructure and prevents dealuminification, while the alloy’s low magnetic permeability makes it useful for instrument and seawater piping systems. It is produced to ASTM B150 (rod, bar, shapes), ASTM B124 (forgings), ASTM B283 (die forgings), and ASTM B171 (plate, sheet).

In the O50 condition, C63200 reaches 655–724 MPa tensile strength, about 345–365 MPa yield, 22–24% elongation, and a Brinell hardness of 190–230. It resists seawater corrosion, cavitation, and erosion, keeps its properties from low to elevated temperature, and has electrical conductivity about 7% IACS at 7.64 g/cm³ density. Gas-shielded arc welding is rated excellent and forgeability is good, while oxyacetylene welding is not recommended; machinability rating is 30 (free-cutting brass = 100).

Linsy Copper supplies C63200 nickel aluminum bronze as forged and wrought bar, rod, plate, and custom forgings with low-MOQ production (typical lead time 10–60 days), in-house CNC machining and surface finishing, an MTR/MTC for every order, and optional SGS testing on request. Both are wrought nickel aluminum bronzes with similar seawater corrosion resistance. C63200 runs a slightly higher iron (3.5–4.3% vs 2.0–4.0%) and a tighter nickel band (4.0–4.8%), giving better forgeability and weldability at a lower cost point, while C63000 targets the very top of the strength range.
No. C63200 has low magnetic permeability, which is why it is used for instrument systems, seawater piping, and other applications where a magnetic signature must be avoided.
Yes. Gas-shielded arc welding is rated excellent and forgeability is good, so C63200 is widely supplied as forgings and welded assemblies. Oxyacetylene welding is not recommended; stress relief near 705°C is typical after fabrication.
ASTM B150 covers rod, bar, and shapes; B124 covers forgings; B283 die forgings; and B171 plate and sheet. The mechanical values quoted here follow ASTM B150 in the O50 condition.
Linsy Copper supplies C63200 as forged and wrought bar, rod, plate, and custom forgings at low MOQ with a typical lead time of 10–60 days, ships an MTR/MTC with every order, and offers optional SGS testing on request.
