C61900 aluminum bronze, also known as aluminum bronze, is a high-strength copper-aluminum alloy supplied as rod and bar under ASTM B150. It combines excellent wear resistance with reliable corrosion protection in marine and industrial environments, making it ideal for bearings, bushings, fasteners, and high-stress structural components.

Product Overview

C61900 aluminum bronze, commonly referred to as aluminum bronze, is a high-strength copper-aluminum alloy containing 8.5–10.0% aluminum and 3.0–4.5% iron. It is manufactured to ASTM B150 standards for rod, bar, and extruded shapes requiring high strength, wear resistance, and marine corrosion resistance.

Produced through controlled hot-working and heat-treatment, C61900 delivers tensile strength of 570–650 MPa with good ductility in the annealed condition. Its aluminum-iron matrix provides excellent resistance to wear, abrasion, and seawater corrosion while remaining stable in non-oxidizing acid service.

C61900 is widely used in marine hardware, bearings, bushings, fasteners, gears, and structural components where load and corrosion resistance matter. Linsy Copper supplies C61900 aluminum bronze bar and rod to ASTM B150, with low-MOQ custom production (typical lead time 10–60 days), in-house CNC machining and surface finishing, an MTR/MTC for every order, and optional SGS testing on request. Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about C61900 aluminum bronze specifications, applications, and ordering.

C61900 is a wrought aluminum bronze specified under ASTM B150 for rod, bar, and shapes. Its combination of high strength (tensile ≥585 MPa), wear resistance, and corrosion resistance makes it suitable for marine hardware, bearings, bushings, fasteners, gears, and structural components exposed to seawater or abrasive service.
C61900 is a wrought alloy supplied as rod and bar under ASTM B150, while C95400 is a cast aluminum bronze (ASTM B148) with higher aluminum (10–11.5%) and iron (3–5.5%). C95400 provides greater strength in cast form but is not workable; C61900 is chosen when machinable, formable stock is required.
C61900 resists atmospheric, freshwater, and quiescent or flowing seawater corrosion, plus non-oxidizing acids such as sulfuric acid. It is not recommended for alkaline solutions. This behavior suits marine and chemical-handling components.
C61900 is supplied as round bar, rod, and extruded shapes per ASTM B150. Common diameters range from 6 mm to 300 mm with standard lengths up to 6 m; custom sizes and tempers are available on request with minimum order quantities.
C61900 welds well with gas-shielded arc processes (GMAW/GTAW) and is good for spot and seam welding; brazing is fair, while soldering and oxyacetylene welding are not recommended. It machines reasonably in the annealed condition and hot-forms excellently, with only fair cold workability.
