C60800 Aluminum Bronze

C60800 aluminum bronze, commonly referred to as 5% aluminum bronze, is a wrought copper-aluminum alloy containing 5.0–6.5% aluminum with small arsenic and iron additions. It is governed by ASTM B150 for rod and bar and ASTM B169 for plate and sheet, and is produced for applications where corrosion resistance and formability are more important than maximum strength.

Produced through hot working and annealing processes, C60800 aluminum bronze offers excellent ductility (elongation up to 55%), good weldability, and dependable resistance to seawater, atmospheric, and mildly acidic corrosion. Its corrosion protection stems from a dense, adherent aluminum-oxide film, and arsenic is added to inhibit dezincification-like attack in certain environments. Typical tensile strength reaches 390–414 MPa with electrical conductivity around 17% IACS.
