C60600 aluminum bronze, also called 5% aluminum bronze, is a low-aluminum copper alloy with good corrosion resistance and an attractive golden color. It is formed into fasteners, decorative hardware, and corrosion-resistant parts for marine and architectural use.

Product Overview

C60600 is a wrought aluminum bronze with a low aluminum content of 4.0–7.0% and iron capped at 0.50% in a copper matrix, giving it the informal name “5% aluminum bronze.” The modest aluminum level keeps the alloy more formable and ductile than the higher-aluminum grades such as C61400 and C95400, while still delivering the seawater and atmospheric corrosion resistance that defines the aluminum-bronze family. It is supplied as rod, bar, and shapes to ASTM B150, and in cast form to ASTM B505 and ASTM B584.

In the O60 (soft anneal) condition C60600 reaches about 310 MPa tensile strength, roughly 115–125 MPa yield, and 40% elongation, with a Rockwell B hardness near 42 and density of 8.17 g/cm³. Lower aluminum means slightly higher conductivity (about 15% IACS) than high-aluminum bronzes, good deep-draw behavior for decorative and stamped parts, and a non-magnetic structure. It is non-sparking, machines at a low rating (about 20), and can be hot worked in the 815–870°C range; gas-shielded arc welding is rated good.

Linsy Copper supplies C60600 aluminum bronze as wrought rod, bar, and shapes plus cast forms with low-MOQ production (typical lead time 10–60 days), in-house CNC machining and surface finishing, an MTR/MTC for every order, and optional SGS testing on request. Frequently Asked Questions

C60600 is the low-aluminum (4.0–7.0%) grade: more ductile and formable, with slightly higher conductivity, but lower strength. C61400 (6–8% Al) and cast C95400 (10–11.5% Al) add strength and hardness at the cost of formability, so C60600 is chosen when deep drawing or a golden decorative finish matters more than peak load.
Its low aluminum content gives a stable golden color and good deep-draw behavior, so it is used for trim, nameplates, and accents that must look like gold while resisting tarnish and corrosion better than brass.
No. C60600 is non-magnetic and non-sparking, which is why it appears in marine hardware and tool components for hazardous or explosive environments.
ASTM B150 covers wrought rod, bar, and shapes; ASTM B505 covers continuous castings; and ASTM B584 covers sand castings. The mechanical values here follow the O60 (soft anneal) wrought condition.
Linsy Copper supplies C60600 as wrought rod, bar, and shapes plus cast forms at low MOQ with a typical lead time of 10–60 days, ships an MTR/MTC with every order, and offers optional SGS testing on request.
