C26800 (66/34, CuZn33) is a yellow brass with Cu 64.0-68.5%, Zn remainder, Pb <=0.09%, Fe <=0.05%, covered by ASTM B36/B134. Its strong cold formability makes it a deep-draw brass for stamped automotive parts, decorative trim, plumbing fittings, and electrical components.
Annealed tensile strength is about 270-350 MPa; half-hard (H02) reaches 365-448 MPa. Density is about 8.47 g/cm3 and electrical conductivity about 27% IACS. It is not heat-treatable for hardening, so properties are set by cold-work temper.
C26800 sits between them in copper content (~66% vs 70% for C26000 and 65% for C27200). Versus C26000 it costs less and draws almost as well; versus C27200 it has slightly more copper and ductility. All three are low-lead (<0.1% Pb) and not free-machining.
It solders and brazes well and resists seam welding; machinability is about 30 (C36000 = 100), so use sharp tools with lubricant. Avoid high-heat welding that drives off zinc. Lead content is low (<0.09%), so it is generally RoHS-compatible outside specific lead exemptions.
