SPEC STD
C17510 beryllium copper, also known as nickel beryllium copper or CuNi2Be, is a high-conductivity copper-beryllium alloy supplied as rod, bar, tube, and plate under ASTM B441 and B534. It combines 45–60% IACS conductivity with moderate-to-high strength, making it ideal for resistance-welding electrodes, current-carrying springs, and thermal-management tooling.

Product Overview

C17510 is a nickel beryllium copper whose properties come from 0.20–0.60% beryllium and 1.40–2.20% nickel in a copper-rich matrix. The nickel addition favors thermal and electrical conductivity over peak strength, so C17510 is the high-conductivity counterpart to the stronger C17200. It is produced to ASTM B441 (rod, bar, tube, wire) and ASTM B534 (strip, sheet, plate), and is classified RWMA Class 3.

In the TF00 (precipitation-hardened) condition C17510 reaches 680–900 MPa tensile strength, 550–690 MPa yield, and 10–25% elongation at 92–102 HRB, while retaining 45–60% IACS electrical conductivity and about 240 W/m·K thermal conductivity. It resists thermal fatigue and stress relaxation, is nonmagnetic, and machines very well. Corrosion resistance is similar to pure copper; it is not recommended for ammonium hydroxide or strong oxidizing acids.

Linsy Copper supplies C17510 beryllium copper as rod, bar, tube, and plate with low-MOQ custom sizes (typical lead time 10–60 days), in-house CNC machining and surface finishing, an MTR/MTC for every order, and optional SGS testing on request. Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our products, services, and ordering process

C17510 uses a nickel addition that favors conductivity, giving 45–60% IACS at 680–900 MPa strength. C17200 is cobalt-bearing and reaches much higher strength (up to ~1500 MPa) but lower conductivity (~22–28% IACS). Choose C17510 when current or heat must flow; choose C17200 when peak strength rules.
Its high conductivity and resistance to thermal fatigue make it the standard for resistance-welding electrodes—spot-weld tips, seam-weld wheels, and projection-weld studs—where it resists mushrooming and maintains current density.
Yes. It is supplied in the TF00 precipitation-hardened condition and does not need further treatment. Properties come from solution treat plus age hardening; no response to simple annealing-to-strength changes.
ASTM B441 covers rod, bar, tube, and wire; ASTM B534 covers strip, sheet, and plate. It is also classified RWMA Class 3. The values quoted here follow ASTM B441 in the TF00 temper.
