C17500 beryllium copper, commonly referred to as cobalt beryllium copper or CuCo2Be (Alloy 10), is a precipitation-hardening copper-beryllium alloy containing 0.4–0.7% beryllium and 2.4–2.7% cobalt as balance copper. It is governed by ASTM B441 for rod and bar and ASTM B534 for plate and strip, and belongs to RWMA Class 4 for resistance-welding tooling.
Produced by solution heat treatment followed by precipitation hardening, C17500 reaches tensile strength of 690–965 MPa in the TF00/TH04 tempers while retaining 45–60% IACS electrical conductivity. Its cobalt addition improves thermal stability and resistance to softening at elevated temperature, so it holds hardness in welding-electrode and hot-runner service. The alloy is non-magnetic, non-sparking, and machines cleanly with carbide tooling.
Linsy Copper supplies C17500 beryllium copper rod, bar, plate, and strip to ASTM B441 and B534, with low-MOQ custom production (typical lead time 10–60 days), in-house CNC machining and surface finishing, an MTR/MTC for every order, and optional SGS testing on request.
