Product Overview

C17000 copper, commonly referred to as high-strength beryllium copper, is a copper-beryllium alloy containing 1.60–1.79% beryllium with a minimum of 0.20% cobalt plus nickel. It is manufactured to ASTM B196 (rod and bar), ASTM B194 (strip and sheet), and ASTM B570 (forgings) for applications requiring a combination of high strength and good conductivity.

Produced through solution heat treatment followed by precipitation (age) hardening, C17000 beryllium copper reaches ultimate tensile strengths of 1035–1240 MPa in the TF00 condition while maintaining electrical conductivity of 22–25% IACS. Its high fatigue strength, low creep, and non-magnetic behavior suit it for precision springs, current-carrying connectors, and plastic mold inserts. The alloy machines well in the solution-treated state before final aging.
